Today we depart from Melbourne at approximately 7.30 and travel down the Princes Hwy towards Gippsland which is rich in dairy farming. We will stop at Lakes Entrance for lunch. Then we will travel through the scenic coastline and through the magnificent forest Cann River arriving in Merimbula. We will freshen up and then enjoy dinner with our friends.
Day 2: Eden
After breakfast, we will travel to Eden visiting the Woodchip Mill at Two Fold Bay. We also we visit Boyd Town founded by Ben Boyd and the lighthouse which has never guided a ship into port. We will also visit the museum at Eden where the skeleton of Tom the Killer Whale is on display. After enjoying some lunch we will head back to Merimbula were the rest of the day is free, and you can enjoy a swim in the pool or the beach. After dinner we will try our luck at one of the many clubs at Merimbula.
Day 3: Bermaguie
Today we will travel to the town of Bega were we will visit the cheese factory for a sample of their award-winning cheese. Then we are going to the peaceful township of Cobargo and the historical village of Central Tilba. This mountain village was founded in 1894 and is classified by the Nation Trust. We make our way to Bermaguie which is known for its big game fishing. We also take a look at the Carmel rock before heading back through Tathra then to our motel to freshen up for dinner.
Day 4: Merimbula to Melbourne
All good things must come to an end and after breakfast we farewell Merimbula and start our journey home. We stop for morning tea at Cann River and then for lunch at Lakes Entrance and arriving home approximately 6pm.
