Depart Melbourne around 8.00 am as we take a trip to Portarlington, which is a historic coastal township located on the Bellarine Peninsula, 28 km from the city of Geelong.
As we head West you can enjoy the views of Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay from the West Gate Bridge with 58 meters height above the water and the total length of 2,582.6 metres. It is the third-longest bridge in Australia and is twice as long as Sydney’s Harbour Bridge.
We shall have a toilet stop and morning tea break at the Victoria State Rose Garden at Werribee. With over 5,000 roses (covering about 5 hectares), it’s one of the tourist gems of Victoria.
We’ll then head towards Geelong passing the scenic route of Geelong along the Coastline to the Bellarine Peninsula. Once we arrive at the Park, we settle down to have your BYO BBQ or Picnic lunch.
Soon after lunch, you can take a stroll on the Pier before starting our journey back to Melbourne by 17.00 with an optional stop for you to buy Mussels on the way home.
