Only a 90-minute drive from Melbourne’s CBD. It’s a great day trip getaway for the Seniors, family & friends.

A day to remember – fishing by the Stevensons river with your friends & family. Be excited & rewarded by catching your own fresh fish to eat here for lunch, or have cleaned & packed on ice to take home. Fishing is the perfect way to get out in nature & experience the sights, smells & sounds of the Aussie bush.

Departing 7.30am, we head towards Buxton via the spectacular Black Spur Mountain Ranges. We shall visit Buxton Trout & Salmon Farm with Picnic & BBQ facilities available where you can catch/purchase and cook your own fish for lunch.

Fish for your choice of Rainbow Trout or Atlantic Salmon

There are a variety of different ponds including large trout (500g -4kg), medium trout (300g-500g), Atlantic salmon (2kg-5kg) and a challenging lake (lightly stocked). 

Hint: Send the kids to the challenge lake if they are catching too many fish!

Rods & bait provided or BYO

All fishing equipment provided free of charge OR test out your own fishing gear!

Their friendly staff will give a quick fishing lesson, demonstrating how to use fishing rods & how to bait your hook. 

Your catch cleaned & packed on ice

They clean your fish (free of charge) & pack them on ice, ready to eat here OR take home. Let them know if you’re travelling back to Melbourne and they can package your fish for the journey! 

Picnic & BBQ facilities

You can enjoy your fresh fish sashimi style or cook here for lunch using our BBQ facilities provided. Use of our BBQ & picnic area is included in admission prices. But –  Please remember your own cutlery and cooking utensils. 

Soon after our lunch, we head towards Yarck to purchase fresh cherries at Koalas Cherries farm before heading back home via Yea by 18.00

Remember to bring walking shoes, hat & sun cream.
